Black Templars!

So I have been working on these templars on and off for years, but never really found the time/motivation to really put the effort in; That has changed!

I am working on a 1500 point MSU list with some cool little twists;

• Marshall - On bike with power weapon and terminator honors
• Emperors Champion with AACNMTO
• 5 Initiates with close combat weaps and bolt pistol (1 power fist and 1 meltagun)
• 5 Initiates with close combat weaps and bolt pistol (1 power fist and 1 meltagun)
• 5 Initiates with close combat weaps and bolt pistol (1 power sword and 1 plasma gun)
• Rhino with Power of The Machine Spirit and Extra Armour
• Razorback with TW-lascanon and Power of The Machine Spirit
• Razorback with TW-lascanon and Power of The Machine Spirit
• 3 x Initiate bike squad with power weapons (thats right, they all have power weapons!)
• 2 x Landspeeder Typhoon

So, thats it. I really love the bike squad, which will have the Marshall in it. The attack output is huge and coupled with no armour saves is awesome. There will be useful! The rest of the army is pretty standard. Upping to 2000 points will see me add another Landspeeder and another initiate unit or two (maybe a dred).

Loved painting these figs, they have to be my favourite unit in the game. Where’s the Skaven you ask? Well, it can get a bit boring when painting 200 models in the same colour scheme. This is my side-project, which is fast becoming my main project! So watch out for the blog to take on a nice emo purple hue!

My chaos champion games day model, went for a khorne theme. It was so nice to paint, amazing sculpt.

They look brilliant! They look very striking. Oh btw, I loved your pirate fig you did for the painting comp, I couldn’t dream of painting anything that good in such a short period of time, good work!

Thanks for the great comments man! Certainly wouldn’t say there better than yours! A WLC release ey?! I hope so!

The model isn’t a Vermin Lord (although it should be really) Its my Abomb heh…I basically stuck two Rat Ogre heads and some extra arms on a Daemon Prince and stuck it on a chariot base with a few rats. If an Abomb fig is released I will buy on and use my conversion as a Vermin Lord, although at 500pts it will never get used. 

I suppose I could just have two Abombs……..Mwahahaha!

When the base is finished ill take a close up, im having the same lighting problems as you atm and its hard to get a decent pic.

Well well….winter is here so every photo I take will be terrible, so apologies on behalf of Plymouth and its gloom.

I’ve been pretty unmotivated to paint my Skaven recently, I keep getting distracted by other miniatures (i’ve got a feeling im not on my own on that one). Anyways, nearly finished my ratties. I have everything painted except for a unit of slaves, oh and just a few clanrats to take two units of 25 up to units of 30. All my rats would have been finished by this evening but my brown spray ran out!

The Abomb is almost done, just got to paint the base. I have three unts of Gutter Runners to paint up, one unit is almost finished. Umm, oh yes.. I also have one more Warlock to paint.

That will be 1200pts of Skaven complete, or round-about. To take it up to 2000 i’ll be getting a unit of 20 Stormvermin (mainly for watchtower), a Grey Seer and a couple Warp-lighting Canons (not the GW ones though…they stink).

Im so excited about January and the new Skaven release. Im going to predict an Abomb release at £25-£30 ish, a hero on a pox-rat (or something there-abouts) and maybe… if were lucky…. a new WLC model?! Pleeasseee!

What are you guys hoping for? Heard any rumors? Tell tell!

Wow! Great army man, they look really well painted, much better than mine anyhow! Seeing work like this is always an inspiration, so without further ado I’ll crack on with my Clanrats! PS. Any chance of a closer picture of the Vermin Lord?

I hear a new WLC might be in the frame which has got me excited too, but you never can be sure with rumors! I’d like to see new Gutter Runners/Plague Monks.
